  • Tangaj Collective
Choreographer and filmmaker Simona Deaconescu (RO), visual artist Ioana Vreme Moser (DE), and composer and sound artist Simina Oprescu (DE) bring their creative universes together in The Choreography of Water. Tangaj Collective’s latest production critically examines the movement of water, from oceans to the human body. The performance explores our bodies as fluid territories where human and non-human worlds intersect, inviting the audience to reflect on the political implications of water flow.

The Choreography of Water is a speculative piece that artistically envisions the future, imagining alternative hydrological cycles. From the intracellular fluids of our bodies to the ports that connect us to the world, the shallow waters that sustain us, and the ocean depths as mysterious as a distant planet, the performance traces the flows that weave life on Earth.

Four performers will interact with a series of water-based sculptures to generate sound, exploring the relationship between choreography and fluid computing—a form of computation that emulates the planet’s natural rhythms through water streams. The sounds produced by the sculptures, amplified and enriched, transform into immersive soundscapes, becoming dynamic instruments for the performers to explore and manipulate.
